Matthew groaned and stepped over the branches in his way to find the rest of the path in the forest. Why did his parents have to suggest a walk through the forest in the first place? He wanted to get out and have an adventure, sure, but walking through a forest along a rough track to an old, almost forgotten house hadn’t been what he had in mind. He would much rather be looking for actual treasure like pirates would but what were the chances of that happening right? He took a swig from his drink bottle and looked around. Was he close to the house? Surely he was close now. “Urgh frustrating! I want to have a REAL adventure!!” He groaned. He kicked a stone away and swiped a branch from his face. It was then he spotted something he hadn’t expected to see. There was a trimmed pirate hat hooked on a branch of a tree, unable to fall off due to no wind in the forest. Matty was curious and went over to the hat. “Hey how cool! A pirate hat with a heart insignia on it. Looks amazing!” he muttered. “But how did it get out here? I wonder if it belongs to anyone.” As Matty grabbed the hat, he started feeling peculiar. Almost cheeky and more adventurous than before. His adventurous side pushed him into putting the hat on, just for a try. Matty did so, happily, and was surprised to find it was a perfect fit. “Hehehe this feels nice!” he beamed. No sooner had he said that then his clothes began to change and he started to feel furry and warm. At first he was confused but then he felt really happy and adventurous when he saw, with fascination, that his hands were changing into otter paws. He giggled cheekily as this happened and saw his clothes had changed to pirate captain clothes now. He admired his new captain gear and felt a large, furry otter tail burst out proudly. The fur spread further and further until his whole body was covered in it and he felt his face and hair change around. He was no longer the normal Matthew he had grown up to know, he was now an anthro otter pirate captain, treasure hunter and adventurer. He beamed at his new form. “Arr t’is be the adventure I dreamed of having! All I need now is me crew and a ship and adventure t’will be mine harrhaarr ^^!” Matty wore a white, slightly ripped buttoned shirt and on top of that was a luscious red velvet jacket with a blue collar. His trousers were navy blue and had pockets at the front and back, with a buckle for his new sword that hung on his left side near his tail. He even had a compass and map to give more to the illusion of a pirate captain. He was truly a sea-worthy anthro otter now.
Matty was still young but he was no longer human, that was for certain. That didn’t matter to him though, he could finally have an actual adventure. He took out his new, fancy sword and slashed at some vines. “Time to find myself a crew!” He smiled with glee.
